Assassin’s Creed Syndicate recently turned eight years old, and as part of the pre-Christmas Cyber Week sales, Ubisoft is giving the game away for free. If you play on PC and want a copy of the ninth installment in the long-running series for nothing, now’s your chance.
You only have a few days
Ubisoft recently posted a tweet advertising the promotion, with a link to the publisher’s store page where you can download the game for free. However, this is only a temporary giveaway. You have until December 6 to claim your copy of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, which gives you just over a week as of this article going live.
Set in London in the year 1868, Syndicate tells a story during the Industrial Revolution, with a focus on twin assassins Jacob and Evie Frye. Upon release on October 23, 2015, the game received pretty good scores, with it being notable for its steampunk vibe.
As for the newer entries in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Ubisoft declared Mirage to be the “biggest new gen” release for the company when it came out last month. The series has become something of a staple in the stealth-action genre, with a new installment releasing pretty much once a year.
In fact, the longest gap between Assassin’s Creed games was between Valhalla and Mirage, with the latter coming out three years after the former.
So to reiterate, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is currently free to own on PC for the next few days. You will, of course, need to sign up for an account on the Ubisoft website if you don’t have one already.
